PM Modi highlighted India’s growing influence on the global stage on Friday, emphasizing how world powers keenly observe the country’s rapid ascent.

“Today, the world’s eyes are on India. It is eagerly watching us to know and understand what India is thinking today,” he stated at a media summit.

Reflecting on India’s economic progress, he noted that under the NDA government, India climbed from the 11th to the 5th largest economy. He stressed that the world now views India with “hope and excitement.”

PM Modi underscored a fundamental shift in India’s foreign policy approach, stating, “India First has become the mantra of India’s foreign policy.” He contrasted this with the past stance of maintaining equal distance from all nations, explaining that today’s strategy is based on “Equi-Closeness,” fostering stronger ties with all global players.

He highlighted India’s proactive role in shaping international policies, particularly in global security, citing the country’s critical contributions during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Discussing India’s leadership in sustainable energy, PM Modi pointed to the International Solar Alliance (ISA) as a game-changing initiative that benefits even the smallest nations. “This effort not only positively impacts the climate but also secures the energy needs of Global South countries,” he stated, noting that over 100 nations have joined the alliance.

He also spoke about transformative projects like the India–Middle East–Europe Economic Corridor (IMEC), which he believes will revolutionize economies and global supply chains.

Additionally, he hailed the inclusion of the African Union as a permanent G20 member, calling it a step toward a more inclusive and democratic global order.

“Such efforts have established India’s strong presence in the new world order. This is just the beginning, as India’s capabilities on global platforms continue to reach new heights,” PM Modi concluded.
