Donald Trump’s health routine has long been a topic of debate, from his fast-food-heavy diet to his unusual sleep schedule. Recently, X user Craig Brockie shared a detailed thread breaking down what he called “Trump’s crazy health routine.”
“78-year-old President Donald Trump sleeps 4-5 hours a night, gets shot at, has the most stressful job on Earth, drinks 12 Diet Cokes a day, and somehow still has more energy than 99% of people I know and lost 30 pounds,” Brockie posted.
Trump’s Diet Shift After COVID-19
In October 2020, Trump tested positive for COVID-19, raising concerns about his health due to his well-known diet of fast food and Diet Coke. However, he recovered quickly, surprising many.
Following the illness, Trump made notable changes to his eating habits. “Prompted by his doctor’s advice, this shift reduces fat and carbs, supporting weight loss and better health. If that wasn’t enough, he lost 30 pounds along the way,” Brockie wrote.
Previously weighing 236 pounds, Trump was advised by doctors to adopt a healthier lifestyle. Cardiologist Dr. Reisman recommended the “30 and 5 program”—30 minutes of brisk walking five days a week combined with a Mediterranean diet rich in fish and fiber.

Supplements in Trump’s Routine
Trump’s health regimen also includes key supplements. According to Brockie, his treatment plan has included zinc, vitamins, melatonin, and a daily aspirin to boost immunity.
In a past Dr. Oz interview, Trump’s height and weight were recorded as 6’3” and 236 pounds, giving him a BMI of 29.5, categorizing him as overweight.
“While specific supplements are not publicly detailed, he takes key vitamins and minerals to support his immunity and energy, emphasizing a balanced diet first. Supplements help fill nutrient gaps,” Brockie wrote.
Trump’s Unique Approach to Exercise
Unlike traditional workouts, Trump relies on golf as his main form of physical activity.
“It’s his primary form of physical activity, helping him stay active and manage his weight without the risks associated with intense exercise,” Brockie said.
While standard fitness guidelines recommend at least 150 minutes of moderate exercise weekly, golf provides benefits such as improved heart health, stress reduction, and better sleep.
“In 1997, Trump admitted to avoiding exercise, but now stays active with golf,” he added.
Trump’s Controversial Sleep Schedule
Despite sleeping only 4-5 hours a night—far below the CDC’s 7–8-hour recommendation—Trump remains highly active.
“This gives him more hours a day to drain the swamp. But there is a downside….” Brockie noted. Research suggests long-term sleep deprivation can negatively impact cognitive function and immune health.
Trump’s Diet Coke Habit and Water Intake
A New York Times feature revealed that Trump consumes up to 12 Diet Cokes daily, a habit health experts generally discourage.
Could this beverage choice be fueling his energy levels? Brockie weighed in, writing, “Health experts warn that limited water intake can lead to dehydration and negatively impact overall well-being. Drinking plenty of water is essential for a healthy lifestyle, as it supports digestion, boosts energy, and improves focus.”
Regular Health Checkups
As a former president, Trump undergoes annual physical exams, with results made public during his time in office.
“The CDC advises regular check-ups for early detection and prevention. Routine evaluations play a key role in health monitoring and long-term wellness,” Brockie stated.
While Trump’s unconventional health habits continue to raise questions, his energy levels and resilience remain points of fascination.
