India’s “AI for All” vision is backed by decisive action, with the nation emerging as a global leader in AI skill penetration and talent concentration, Union Minister Jitin Prasada said on Thursday. “Our mantra ‘AI for All’ is backed by concrete action. India is number one in the world in AI skill penetration, the AI skill index even outstrips the US and Germany,” Prasada stated, emphasizing that India is not just leading in numbers but also making a tangible impact on global digital transformation.

Highlighting India’s readiness to be a strategic technology partner, the minister called on businesses to make research a core part of their growth strategies.

“India is the skill capital of the world, and we are ready to share, venture across the world, and contribute to various sectors given the enormous edge that we have on the skill front,” he said.

He also stressed the importance of ensuring that future skills programs reach every corner of the country, including villages, to equip the workforce for rapid technological advancements.

India’s tech industry continues to showcase its strength and resilience on the global stage. Prasada noted that the sector recorded a staggering $254 billion in revenue for fiscal year 2024, reinforcing its position as a global powerhouse.

“With a presence in over 80 countries and a track record of delivering cutting-edge solutions to Fortune 500 companies, Indian IT firms have become synonymous with innovation, reliability, and excellence,” he said. “Our strength lies in our highly skilled workforce, deep expertise in emerging technologies, and our ability to partner with the world in its digital transformation journey.”

As Minister of State for both Commerce and IT, Prasada highlighted that these sectors are “the flavors of the season,” and India is well-positioned to capitalize on their exponential growth.
