As Stranger Things nears its conclusion, Millie Bobby Brown reflects on the emotional journey of bidding farewell to the show that has defined much of her life. Having spent a decade as part of the Duffer Brothers’ wildly successful series, Brown admits that letting go has been a deeply personal and challenging experience.
Currently on an extensive press tour for her upcoming film, The Electric State, alongside Chris Pratt, Brown has been candid in interviews. However, one topic that still stirs strong emotions is her time on Stranger Things. She was just 10 years old when the show premiered in July 2016, and over the years, she has not only evolved as an actress but also ventured into the beauty industry and married Jake Bongiovi.
Reflecting on a Decade of Growth
Leaving behind a show that has been an integral part of her formative years is no easy task. Speaking with Entertainment Tonight, Brown articulated just how significant this chapter has been for her.
“Really emotional. I mean, again, 10 years of my life. I started when I was 10 years old, and my whole life has really been dedicated to the show. My career was built on the show… you’re just not ready to say goodbye to the characters you’ve built, and also, you know, the people that you’ve met, the person that you’ve become, the lessons that you’ve learned. It’s so much to think about, really hard to process. It took me a while to kind of get over all of it—it’s just a really emotional goodbye,” she shared.
As the series prepares to wrap up, Brown’s reflections serve as a testament to the lasting impact Stranger Things has had—not just on its cast, but on an entire generation of fans.
