Bollywood icon Aamir Khan has officially confirmed his relationship with Gauri Spratt, revealing they have been together for over a year. The announcement came during an informal media gathering on Thursday, just ahead of his 60th birthday.
“I thought it would be a nice occasion for you all to meet her, besides we won’t have to keep hiding. She met Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan last night,” Khan shared with the press.
Gauri, originally from Bengaluru, has known Aamir for 25 years, but their romantic connection blossomed only a year and a half ago. “She happened to be in Mumbai, and we met accidentally. We kept in touch, and then it all happened organically,” he explained.
Aamir, previously married to Reena Dutta (1986–2002) and later to Kiran Rao (2005–2021), continues to co-parent his children with both former spouses. Reflecting on his past relationships, he expressed gratitude for the meaningful bonds he has shared.
“I’ve been fortunate to be in a strong relationship. Like, Reena and I spent 16 years together, and then Kiran and I spent 16 years together, and in many ways, we are still together. I’ve learned so much, and it’s been very enriching. With Gauri, I feel settled,” he said.
During the event, Aamir serenaded Gauri with “Kabhi Kabhie Mere Dil Mein”, holding her hand as he sang.
Gauri, who has a six-year-old son, shared that she was seeking someone “gentle and intelligent” and is happy to have found Aamir. She has now joined his production house.
Commenting on the possibility of marriage, Aamir remarked, “I don’t know at the age of 60, mujhe shaadi shobha deti hai ki nahi. My kids are very happy. I am very fortunate to have such great relationships with my ex-wives.”
Upcoming Projects
Aamir is gearing up for his next film, “Sitaare Zameen Par”, a thematic sequel to “Taare Zameen Par” (2007). The film, directed by RS Prasanna, is set for a June release. “It is many steps ahead of ‘Taare Zameen Par’, which was about a special child who is struggling. Here in this film, 10 special people are the protagonists, and I’m the antagonist,” he revealed.
Additionally, Aamir is producing “Lahore 1947”, directed by Rajkumar Santoshi and starring Sunny Deol and Preity Zinta. The film has already generated excitement, with lyricist Javed Akhtar praising its early cut.
“Javed Akhtar has seen the first cut, and he felt it will do well,” Aamir shared.
