Apple Intelligence will introduce support for new languages with the upcoming iOS 18.4 update, scheduled for release in April.
The new languages include French, German, Italian, Portuguese (Brazil), Spanish, Japanese, Korean, and simplified Chinese. Additionally, localized English versions will be available for users in Singapore and India.
Following the recent announcement of the budget-friendly iPhone 16E, Apple has shared the timeline for its next software update, iOS 18.4, which promises significant enhancements, including the expansion of Apple Intelligence’s language capabilities.
In a blog post, Apple confirmed that its suite of AI features, known as Apple Intelligence, will soon support these new languages. The updated language options will be available globally with iOS 18.4, iPadOS 18.4, and macOS Sequoia 15.4 in April, with developers able to start testing these updates now.
For the first time, Apple Intelligence features will be accessible to iPhone and iPad users in the European Union (EU). Furthermore, Apple Intelligence will be integrated into the Apple Vision Pro in US English, allowing users to “communicate, collaborate, and express themselves in entirely new ways.”
Apple places a strong emphasis on privacy with Apple Intelligence. The system primarily operates on-device, ensuring that personal data remains secure. For more complex tasks that require advanced AI models, Apple utilizes Private Cloud Compute, which extends iPhone-level security to cloud processing while safeguarding user data.
Apple has also indicated that Apple Intelligence will continue to evolve with new features in the coming months, including enhanced capabilities for Siri. With the arrival of iOS 18.4 in April, users can anticipate a more intelligent and personalized experience with Apple Intelligence.
