A restaurant in Bengaluru has caught the Internet’s attention with its unusual rule: “No real estate or political talk while you dine.”

A restaurant in South Bengaluru- Paakashala has sparked a heated discussion online with an unusual request for its customers. A sign displayed inside the eatery advises diners to steer clear of real estate and political discussions while enjoying their meals.

An X user posted a picture of the sign, which states: “This facility is only for dine-in purpose, not for real estate/political discussions. Please understand and cooperate.” The caption, “Clear instructions alright,” quickly caught people’s attention online.

Many users on X pointed out that similar signs are commonly seen in Bengaluru’s restaurants, especially in places where large groups tend to occupy tables for extended periods while ordering very little. Some recalled spotting such notices in well-known eateries across the city.

One user vented their frustration over loud conversations in cafés, saying, “Good, I want to punch them when I see them in CCD… Absolute morons, no common sense of public decency… Keep talking rubbish loudly… 10 ppl enter, order 5 coffees, and bring the roof down…!”

Another user remarked, “I remember A2B restaurant in Yelahanka also has a similar board.”

Not everyone supported the rule, though. One person questioned, “Weird, why does he have to police what people are talking? They are paying for the food they eat, no?”

This isn’t the first time Bengaluru has made headlines for its quirks. Recently, a matrimonial advertisement in Nayandahalli went viral due to a funny typo. Instead of reading “Bride and Groom Information Centre,” the sign mistakenly said “Bride and Broom Information Centre.”
