Chinese AI startup DeepSeek has rolled out a major upgrade to its V3 large language model, intensifying competition with U.S. tech giants like OpenAI and Anthropic.
The new model, DeepSeek-V3-0324, is now available on the AI development platform Hugging Face, reinforcing the company’s ambition to establish itself as a key player in the fast-growing AI market.
According to benchmark tests published on Hugging Face, the upgraded model shows notable advancements in reasoning and coding abilities compared to its predecessor. DeepSeek claims these improvements translate into enhanced technical performance across multiple industry metrics.
DeepSeek has quickly gained traction in the global AI sector by releasing a series of competitive models that offer cutting-edge performance at reduced operational costs.
The company initially launched its V3 model in December, followed by the release of its R1 model in January.
