Karnataka’s Congress government is contemplating sending the Karnataka Transparency in Public Procurement (Amendment) Bill, 2025, to the President after the governor rejected it twice. The bill proposes 4% reservation for Muslims in civil contracts up to Rs 1 crore, alongside quotas for other categories. The government is exploring options after constitutional experts advised against challenging the governor’s decision in court.
