‘Stop Asking Daft Questions’ – Scott Brown Shuts Down BBC Reporter in Heated Interview‘Stop Asking Daft Questions’ – Scott Brown Shuts Down BBC Reporter in Heated Interview

With just six matches remaining in the race for Premiership promotion, Ayr United manager Scott Brown is feeling the pressure as Falkirk edges closer to sealing the top spot.

Ahead of Ayr’s crucial clash against Hamilton, Brown was interviewed by veteran BBC reporter Chick Young on BBC Sportsound. The conversation quickly turned tense when Young pressed Brown on whether the game was a “must-win” for his side.

After a brief pause, Brown simply responded, “Next question, Chick.”

Young, laughing, tried again. “I’m getting the look but not the words! It is a must-win…”

But Brown wasn’t having it. “Every game is a must-win,” he retorted. “You’ve been in the game enough to not ask daft questions, but you keep asking them, continuously.”

Despite Ayr’s strong home record this season, their recent dip in form has raised concerns. Before the match against Hamilton, they had lost two straight games and failed to keep a clean sheet since February 1.

When asked about the team’s struggles, Brown acknowledged the setbacks but remained defiant.

“There’s always gonna be hiccups in the league throughout the season, for every team. Falkirk’s had them, Livingston’s had them, we’ve had them. It just depends on the time you do have these hiccups, and we can’t afford to have any more.”

With the promotion battle reaching its final stages, Brown knows every point counts—and he’s making sure his squad stays focused.
