Over 500 rescuers are racing against time to locate eight workers trapped inside Telangana’s Srisailam Left Bank Canal (SLBC) tunnel, which partially collapsed on February 22. Despite relentless efforts by the Army, Navy, Singareni Collieries, and other agencies, no breakthrough has been achieved, leaving families in agony.

Rescue teams are now cutting through a massive Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) in a desperate attempt to create a passage, but water and sludge continue to hamper operations. Meanwhile, anxious relatives claim they are being kept in the dark, with one family member even denied permission to enter the tunnel.

As the rescue mission enters its seventh day, authorities remain under pressure to expedite the evacuation, with 12 departments coordinating efforts. Experts from Singareni mines and the National Geophysical Research Institute (NGRI) are on-site, but the situation remains critical.
