Telangana Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu presented the state budget for 2025-26 in the Assembly today, marking a historic financial milestone. For the first time, the budget is set to exceed ₹3 lakh crore, with projections reaching ₹3.2 lakh crore.
Balancing immediate fiscal commitments with long-term welfare initiatives, officials have faced a complex financial challenge. With two months remaining in the fiscal year, provisional data from the Comptroller and Auditor General indicates total receipts at ₹1.82 lakh crore, representing 66.57% of the ₹2.74 lakh crore estimate for 2024-25.
Highlighting the government’s vision for regional development, Bhatti Vikramarka announced, “We are going to make Warangal an IT hub. The city will be developed as a center for education, medical facilities, and the IT sector. Additionally, Nizamabad and Khammam will be transformed into key centers for agro-based industries and manufacturing.”
The Deputy Chief Minister also outlined ambitious plans to elevate Hyderabad into a global city. “We are formulating a master plan focused on technological advancement, transportation expansion, infrastructure development, and environmental conservation. As part of this vision, we have launched the Musi Riverfront Development Project to make Hyderabad a pollution-free city,” he stated.
With a strong focus on economic growth, infrastructure, and technological progress, Telangana’s 2025-26 budget aims to position the state as a leading hub for industry and innovation.
