Socialite and internet personality Orhan Awatramani, popularly known as Orry, has been booked along with seven others for allegedly consuming alcohol at a hotel in Katra, near the sacred Vaishno Devi shrine. The Jammu and Kashmir Police stated that an FIR was registered against the group for “violating the law of the land” and that a special team has been deployed to apprehend them for “hurting the sentiments of people.” The incident has triggered widespread backlash online, with many netizens calling for a ban on Orry, accusing him of disrespecting the Hindu faith.

On March 15, the Katra Police Station received a complaint stating that a group of guests at a local hotel were consuming alcohol and non-vegetarian food in violation of regional norms. Following the complaint, an FIR was filed, and authorities initiated action under Section 223 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) to apprehend the accused.

Orhan Awatramani, widely recognized as Orry, is a social media influencer and socialite known for his close connections with Bollywood celebrities, particularly star kids. He gained significant public attention in 2023 due to his frequent presence at high-profile Bollywood parties.
Orry holds a degree in Fine Arts and Communication Design from Parsons School of Design in New York. His LinkedIn profile lists him as a Special Projects Manager at Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) Chairperson’s Office. However, his exact profession remains unclear. In previous interviews, he has described himself as a graphic designer, singer-songwriter, fashion designer, and even mentioned working at a Steve Madden store in Mumbai. Adding to his enigmatic persona, Orry refers to himself as a “liver.”
