Former President Donald Trump has lashed out at U.S. District Judge James Boasberg after the judge temporarily blocked deportation flights of Venezuelan migrants. Trump, in a fiery online post, called Boasberg a “Radical Left Lunatic” and demanded his impeachment.
Boasberg had ruled that the Justice Department must explain why the administration deported Venezuelans despite his order pausing their removal. The judge specifically questioned when Trump invoked the Alien Enemies Act of 1798 to classify the Venezuelan prison gang Tren de Aragua as an irregular warfare threat against the U.S. and when the deportation flights actually took off.
The Trump administration contends that the individuals deported were gang members and claims the flights began on Saturday—before the judge’s halt order was issued.
Trump Blasts ‘Troublemaker’ Judge, Calls for Impeachment
In his online tirade, Trump accused Boasberg of being an activist judge appointed by former President Barack Obama, stating:
“This Radical Left Lunatic of a Judge, a troublemaker and agitator who was sadly appointed by Barack Hussein Obama, was not elected President.”
Trump also reiterated his claims of electoral fraud, asserting:
“He didn’t WIN the popular VOTE (by a lot!), he didn’t WIN ALL SEVEN SWING STATES, he didn’t WIN 2,750 to 525 Counties, HE DIDN’T WIN ANYTHING!”
Immigration Stance and Tough Talk on Crime
Trump emphasized immigration as a central issue of his presidency, declaring:
“I WON FOR MANY REASONS, IN AN OVERWHELMING MANDATE, BUT FIGHTING ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION MAY HAVE BEEN THE NUMBER ONE REASON FOR THIS HISTORIC VICTORY.”
He concluded his post with a strong stance on national security, reinforcing his hardline immigration policy:
“WE DON’T WANT VICIOUS, VIOLENT, AND DEMENTED CRIMINALS, MANY OF THEM DERANGED MURDERERS, IN OUR COUNTRY.”
With immigration remaining a hot-button issue, Trump’s latest comments signal his continued focus on border security ahead of the 2024 election.
