The 2025 IBA Women’s World Boxing Championships is set to take place in Nis, Serbia, from March 8 to 17. This tournament will bring together the world’s top female boxers, competing across 12 weight divisions for ultimate glory.
This will be the 14th edition of the championships, with more than 500 female boxers from over 100 countries expected to participate. Serbian Boxing Federation President Nenad Borovcanin has described it as “an event like never seen before.”
One of the standout contenders is Ivanusa ‘Nancy’ Moreira from Cape Verde, a prominent figure in West African boxing. Having reached the quarterfinals in 2022 and 2023, she will be aiming for her first IBA Women’s World Boxing Championships title this year.
Women’s World Boxing Championships 2025 Prize Money
The tournament will offer substantial prize money to its winners:
- Gold medallists will receive $100,000 USD,
- Silver medallists will win $50,000,
- Each bronze medallist will claim $25,000,
- For the first time in the tournament’s history, all quarter-finalists will receive $10,000.
