After days of teasers, Nothing has officially revealed the Phone 3(a) and Phone 3(a) Pro at MWC 2025. The announcement was made by Nothing co-founder and newly appointed India President, Akis Evangelidis, during a presentation at the Qualcomm booth.
The mid-range smartphones are set to launch on March 4, marking their official debut during the second day of MWC 2025 in Barcelona. However, the phones were displayed inside a glass enclosure, preventing hands-on access, making it difficult to provide deeper insights into the devices just yet.
Design and Features
The Phone 3(a) builds on its predecessor, the Phone 2a, with a refined design and a more prominent camera module. Meanwhile, the Phone 3(a) Pro takes a bold, unconventional design approach, featuring an asymmetrical camera layout that is sure to divide opinions. As with previous Nothing phones, the design remains polarizing.
During the announcement, Akis Evangelidis confirmed that both models will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 chipset. This is a notable shift from last year’s Phone 2a, which surprised many by incorporating a MediaTek processor.
One of the key differentiators between the two models is the Periscope Telephoto sensor in the Phone 3(a) Pro—a first for Nothing.
Camera Capabilities
The camera system will support:
- 3x optical zoom
- 6x in-sensor zoom
- 60x “ultra zoom”
- 4K video recording
- Ultra HDR photography
Additionally, Nothing has been teasing a new feature called Essential Space, which is designed to act as a “second memory” powered by AI. There are also speculations that the phone might come with a dedicated camera button.
Global Availability
Both the Phone 3(a) and Phone 3(a) Pro will be available in India simultaneously with other global markets.
